'Rosie' (dob April 23, 2011) was bred by Bitte Ahrens Primavera and Pierluigi Primavera of the world-famous Sobers Kennel in Italy.
She is a multi-group winner, finishing #1 Greyhound in Canada for 2013.
She has a happy, fun-loving temperament just like her sire, It Ch Showline's Sporting Trophy of Sobers. Through her beautiful dam, It Ch Sobers Harriet, Rosie is a grand-daughter of one of my all-time favourite greyhounds, BIS SBIS Int Multi Ch Sobers Cadelia.
Rosie had her first litter, sired by AmGCh GrandCru Paleo of Sobers, in September 2015. Two of her kids are already group-winning and -placing champions, Ch Pax Mundi Athena (see her page) and Ch Pax Mundi Ares (owned and shown by Amy Walter-Horth).
Rosie's second litter, sired by Multi-Ch Denetorn des Legendes du Moyen-Age, is currently on the ground. Some babies from this litter are available to loving forever homes.
Ch Pax Mundi Athena
'Athena' (dob September 21, 2015) recently finished her title from the bred-by exhibitor class. The started her show career as a seven-month old puppy with a bang, going breed over a champion and winning a Group 2! She won 9 points as a puppy, all with breed competition, and then she stayed home to grow up. When she came out again at 21-months old, she finished with another breed win over a champion and went on to Group 3. At her next show, Athena won the group! She will be occasionally shown this summer (2017).
Greyhounds of the Past
I had wanted a greyhound for over ten years, and while I was living in the UK doing a PhD at the University of Edinburgh, I was determined to get my first one. I was thrilled to realize my dream when I acquired Ch Solstrand Juno, (b. 1994, by UK Ch Solstrand Fine 'N Dandy x It Ch Olivia della Caveja). Juno was a stunning blue fawn -- very sweet with people, snooty with other dogs--and fast!
My second greyhound was Am Ch Sobers Corrado, part of the all-champion 'C' litter bred by Bitte Ahrens and Astrid Jonsson in Sweden (Sobers Zenith x Sw Ch Hickory's Nautica). 'Carter' was a goofy, fun-loving red brindle and is greatly missed.
I recently lost Ch Sobers Isadora at the age of 10. 'Sadie' (born Dec 3, 2006) was bred in Italy by Bitte Ahrens Primavera and Pierluigi Primavera. She was sired by Int It Club Ch Croat Ch Fabian del Marchese di Rhieti out of It Ch Sobers Duvalia.
Although Sadie didn't really like dog shows, she was a group winner, multi-group placer, a sighthound specialty BOB winner, and twice ranked among Canada's top greyhounds. She was the reigning queen here at Pax Mundi, and at 9+ years old, was still the fastest dog I owned. Her presence here is missed.
